In the Gospel today we hear about a man who has been posessed by demons for years, and Jesus comes to his town and sets him free. When his neighbors find this man to be changed, they ask Jesus to leave. They were afraid that his authority would reduce any authority they had.
Today, we feel we live in a zero-sum world. We are afraid there is only so much praise to go around. Only so much love. Even in the church, opportunities for new ministries are often seen as threats to existing ones.
Saying “no” is easy. But how can we say “yes”? We worship a limitless God. Don’t let the limits you create limit your life.
